Exquisite Signs of Colmar France
Colmar France is a unique city having earned the title “Little Venice” and a very popular tourist destination. As we sat in one of the local cafes for morning espresso and pastries, we discussed the uniqueness of the city and pondered what we could photograph that was a little different from what is normally captured. Later that morning, as we walked through the city, we noticed that many of the store fronts had exquisite signs illustrating their specific business speciality. Some of the business had actually changed from the original, but still preserved the original sign. Here are some of our favorites, see if you can figure out the meaning.
Safe to say this is a pastry store.
This is probably a meat market, but I'm not sure why the monk is reading to the pig and the pig is very interested.
Jocelyn says this is a pharmacy, but I'm not convinced.
Another pastry store.
Looks like a meat market, since the sign is framed by sausages.
No idea what this is? Maybe a General's home?
House of Pelerin
Rabbit with an idea or he sells light bulbs
