Last year we visited Keukenhof Holland and Kinderdijk Netherlands in early April 2014. This is without a doubt one of the best places we visited since arriving in Europe. We are currently planning another trip in April 2015, let us know if you are interested in making the trip with us.
Keukenhof Holland- Keukenhof (Kitchen garden), also known as the Garden of Europe, is the world's second largest flower garden following Dubai Miracle Garden. It is situated in Lisse, Netherlands. According to the official website for the Keukenhof Park, approximately 7 million flower bulbs are planted annually in the park, which covers an area of 79 acres.
Here are a few highlights from our trip.
Kinderdijk Netherlands - On the second day we visited Kinderdijk to see the awesome windmills. Kinderdijk is a village in the Netherlands about 15 km east of Rotterdam. Kinderdijk is situated at the confluence of the Lek and Noord rivers. To drain the polder, a system of 19 windmills was built around 1740. This group of mills is the largest concentration of old windmills in the Netherlands.
